ABOUT ME
READY TO SERVE
Tyler Clancy is a lifelong learner with a passion for people. He has been involved in the community from a young age, working on a number of campaigns and volunteer initiatives on the local, state, and federal level. His love for service came from his mother, Lisa, a public school teacher, and his father, Matt, who served as Police Chief until his death in 2020.
Tyler graduated with his Bachelor's Degree at Brigham Young University where he served as President of the BYU Republicans, captain of the lacrosse team, and Editor-In-Chief for the school's political review. While in college, Tyler met his sweetheart, Leah, and they were recently married.
From 2020-2022, Mr. Clancy worked as the Executive Director for the Pioneer Park Coalition, working on the complex issues surrounding homelessness throughout the state of Utah. While in this role, Tyler was able to work closely on projects with the US Attorney’s Office, the Utah Legislature, and United States Cabinet officials.
Whether he was working with an elected official at city hall or a homeless person in a tent, Tyler always treated everyone with the same dignity and respect.
Mr. Clancy was recently elected as Chairman of the Emerging Leaders Initiative of Utah and works as a police officer for the City of Provo. He loves what he does and the people he works with.
Tyler decided to run for the legislature because he wants to be a voice for the “underdog” and people who feel like they’ve been left behind by the current political climate.
